Jim Sheen, Jr. began his creative "career" in woodworking at an early age, and has been enjoying it ever since. His interest and training came honestly, both from a great-uncle who was a professional woodworker, and his father who is an accomplished woodworking hobbyist.
Jim's love of design and creative expression led him to degrees in physics and engineering, and later to 20 years in the computer and technology business as an engineer and executive. All the while, he continued to enjoy woodworking and improve on his work in the craft. In 2006, Jim decided to take his interests and experience in a new direction, and founded Boca Woodworking and Design. Although he no longer does his best work in feet pajamas, he still has the passion to create beautiful and functional custom furniture and cabinetry. "In an age of mass production, we believe there will always be those who appreciate the warmth, quality, and design of fine hand-crafted furniture. We work with our friends and clients to create unique, heirloom-quality pieces that bring years of enjoyment and pride of ownership."

The way you use, or need to use, a piece of furniture should dictate the way it is built and the manner in which it works – not the other way around. Our philosophy is simple.
